The 52nd Agriculture and Food Fair of St. Croix had the presence of Moko Jumbies. According to African lore, they are protectors whose height allows them to watch over villages. The tradition was brought to the U.S. Virgin Islands over 200 years ago, and today, Moko Jumbies are an essential part of festivals and Carnivals.

I am a Puerto Rican award-winning student with five years of professional experience across journalism, corporate communications, and public affairs.
Throughout my career, I have led initiatives with prominent entities. My roles included leading investigative projects, conducting high-profile interviews, overseeing multimedia production, devising strategic editorial initiatives, and efficiently managing corporate communications campaign, showcasing my strong management and leadership skills.
I’m interested in specializing in investigative reporting for print, broadcasting and digital news organizations.
In summer 2025, I will graduate from university, ready to be hired for a full-time role while continuing my graduate studies. I seek new opportunities to learn, grow, and amplify diverse voices in journalism. Additionally, I aim to increase youth representation in media roles, leading transformation and innovation across Puerto Rico, Latin America, and the U.S.
